Ugarte's Poker Grovel #50, or Push Harder
I came back from Florida ready to play some poker. Brother of Ugarte picked me up at the airport and we went straight to A.M. for the weekly tournament. I didn’t play much poker (certainly much competitive poker) in Florida, but I thought that I had a handle on my game and could play strong.
I was right, mostly, but it didn’t matter and I ended up playing my most expensive session in a long time.
Nope, you’re quoting me out of context. I said I was getting frustrated by the crapshoot nature of it AND by the fact that the social element is lacking (unlike the AM2 ring game).
I don’t think it’s “beneath my skill level”, but I do think the fast structure negates most of the advantage skilled players could have.

I never get comments, only corrections.
Apologies. I thought my parenthetical was enough to make it clear that I thought the tourney is below your skill level, not that you expressed any such thing.

Now that’s not true. I gave you a comment in a post from a week ago that wasn’t a correction.

1) You two need to get a room.
2) You should have mentioned that this wasn’t the weekly AM, but the Holiday tourney, with a double buy-in, 50% chips, and longer levels.
3) Mentioning I took 2nd place would have been cool, too.
4) I hope Goldilocks posts this mysterious “home game/I don’t like the AM weekly/I’m a big whiner” post that’s been referred to more times than WMDs lately.

(1) We gave up the sex for poker.
(2) Yeah, because non-A.M. players care about that.
(3) After the way your Vikings shit the bed the last two weeks and backed into screwing the Saints out of the playoffs you are lucky I mention you at all without spitting on the ground.
(4) Not gonna happen.
