Ugarte's Poker Grovel #23, or Jacked
Another Monday, another game at Ferrari’s place, another breach of etiquette by Ferrari directed at me. And this one may have cost me money.
The game was a short one for me, but it still managed to be expensive. I was playing tight again, but that doesn’t matter when your good hands get beat anyway.
Poker blog stuff follows the game report.
enjoyed the game report, per usual. not playing table stakes is clearly and profoundly retarded. that oughta be changed, fer sure.
my humble two cents.

Of all the insults you have ever lobbed my way (which, readers, is really not that many, despite any impressions you may have otherwise) one of the few that I have ever taken offense at, and probably the one I take the most offense, is the suggestion (after all the conversations we have had on the subject) that I would boot you from my game for insulting ME. For personally insulting a guest at my game, very possible, for divulging my or others personal discussions disclosed over poker (what happens in Vegas...), possibly, but for insulting me, never. It just goes to show that, after all this time, you still don’t understand me at all.

If you guys keep this up, I might actually start to believe that you don’t like each other....
I *do* think we need to change the table stakes rule (Iggy’s two cents are worth quite a bit here), but this isn’t the right forum to debate it. Let’s make it a point to all be on the same page *before* the next home game—that is, before Ferrari wins all of his money back.
(And Iggy, if you’re playing on P-Stars regularly, look me up as “CoachJRF").

Not surprisingly, I disagree with Coach. This would seem like the ideal forum to debate it, since a few people who think a lot about poker peruse this site.
When I have time, I will post an explanation of my rationale for the rule. I would be curious to see people’s reactions and I am open to changing the rule after weighing everyone’s thoughts. But I think, when the rationale is explained, while he may not agree with it, Iggy will not find it “clearly and profoundly retarded.” Nice to meet you too Iggy.
Update: You can read my explanation here.
