Ugarte's Poker Grovel #17, or Like I Was Saying

Man, it feels good to get it right.  After boldly predicting that I felt like I was about to turn my game around, I went out and had my best game in over a year.  I don’t really think this means that I’ve turned the corner, but it sure feels a hell of a lot better than losing.

Maybe it is a result of the winning, but the games the last two nights were more fun than I’ve had in a while at the tables.  The games were full of coffeehousing and, more importantly, trash talking.  And the cards were pretty good also.

You’ve read Pauly’s report, so here’s my take on the game plus some shout outs to the Poker Blog world.

Great post! I forgot about that hand I won but really lost. It’s cool. CARDS SPEAK, so there should never be hard feelings in that instance.

“Modern reading”?????  Is there anything else in the Constitution that needs prettying up for our modern world where all evil has been vanquished?????

Grrrr....

No problem whatsoever.

Good luck tonight!

Well, the traditional reading of the 2d Amendment has always been “Hey, who put that there? I think I will ignore it.” I don’t think it at all unfair to call the recent scholarship empowering the 2d Amendment “modern.”

At least I didn’t say “revisionist.”

I’m with Scott.  Let’s not “pretty up” the 2nd Amendment with modern notions.  I will fight and die for Scott’s unfettered right to keep as many muskets, cannonballs, and sabers as he wishes.

I get cannons????  Wa-Hoo!!

You do realize that until 1934 or thereabouts I could legally own a fully automatic machine gun, right?  Tell me you know this.

You can have a cannon, but it has to be a front-loader and you have to use grapeshot.

You can fling anything you want in your trebuchet.

thank you for the mention, sir!

good tip per the quotes - i’ll try and whip up a decent solution for that. but hell, it’s hard enough just to write up the drivel that i do.

i’ll refrain from any constitutional thoughts i may have.  smile
