Media outlet after media outlet have declared that the U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball team will only be co-favorites, or perhaps even underdogs, to win gold in Athens due to our less than ideal Olympic roster. I thought this might be a wee bit of hyperbole. It turns out I was wrong.
The talking heads are not even close. The actual betting lines have the U.S. installed as an overwhelming 1-4 favorite with the next shortest odds belonging to Lithuania and Argentina at 6-1.
