One Order of Free Press, Hold the Irony

For the second time, Justice Scalia has demonstrated his rock solid committment to freedom of the press by refusing to allow his speeches to be taped.  This restriction includes going so far as having his security detail actually compel the destruction of tapes.

In the first instance he was receiving an award for his committment to free speech; in the second, the press-restricting Justice told the crowd “The Constitution of the United States is extraordinary and amazing. People just don’t revere it like they used to.”

I thank the Justice for saving me the effort of writing the punchline.

Additional thanks to Clareified for the link.
