I Waited For This?

There was a packed house on Wednesday night at New York Comedy Club and I was primed for a good show.  I was using tested material, but I still wouldn’t bore my friends because it would be an entirely new set for them.

And it was still a disaster.

As a first timer to Rick’s, I was enthused to hear that you’re a comic but was saddened that the night went so poorly for you.

I’m wondering, are you sure you’re funny?

Seriously, I’m trolling down and haven’t found one funny or witty phrase… I mean, you call yourself a comic-- hold on, I found something:

“My (intended) last joke of the night, the second half of the Orbitz segment, may as well have been a request for silence for the memory of the fallen in Iraq.”

Nice.  Self deprecating, amusing-- this has potential.  Since I’m a slave to comedy, I’ll be forced back here often.  Until next time, don’t worry about the small stuff, and press on!

First of all: Yes, I’m sure.  There used to be a bio on the blog in which I admitted that there wouldn’t be much proof of it here.

Anyway, there’s a schedule - you can come see for yourself. If you think I’m not funny I’ll give you a dollar.

Update: I just checked your website and saw that you are in New Orleans.  Will you be on my side if I tell you (truthfully) that I’m a Saints fan? I post occassionally on Black & Gold as BrooklynSaint.

Of course I’m on your side, especially since you’re a Saints fan.

Best of luck to ya!
