A Tale of Two SidneysSidney, like his dad, is a Saints fan until it is proven otherwise. He doesn’t yet know what a bad choice this is. Then again, neither did his father, who chose the Saints when he was in 4th grade because he did a report on the fleur-de-lis and then saw it on their helmet. This did not stop his Aunt Dawn from buying him Patriots gear when she made her first trip to Gillette Stadium this year. We put him in the clothes that Aunt Dawn bought, because that is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, the outfit came with a hat for a cornerback and Sidney is more of a linebacker. In any event, he was not amused.
It wasn’t even clear if Dawn was allowed to root for the Patriots, but when Sidney found out that Aunt Dawn was, officially, a board-certified Patriots fan, he was happy for Aunt Dawn!
I guess he didn’t realize that we aren’t supposed to be happy for Aunt Dawn. Clearly, he is his mother’s son.
He’s still a Saints fan.
