What do Rick's Cafe and the NY Observer have in common?

Nobody reads either one.

Otherwise somebody would have commented to me about this article about my engagement to Zinester.

Who isn’t happy? Thanks, Esther.

Just read the piece and it was charming and revealing. When Carrie says ‘and I don’t like the idea that I’m claimed.’ But then previously it says ‘she was converting to Judaism for her fiancé’.

So she does not want a ring as a symbol of being claimed, but she’s completely abandoning her past and converting to a religion that does not easilly accept converts for what reason?  The bass-ackwards logic of that is tragic.  I hope someone has talked to Carrie seriously about this. It seems like an act of domination in a way. What do Carries parents think and do they care or does that even matter since males dominate?

I wish you two the best, but if Carrie starts feeling uneasy and ‘claimed’ in a few years and wants out, good luck to you Chuckie.

Not exactly sure why you think that there was any claiming going on. She offered to convert; I didn’t request it (though I do appreciate the gesture very much). No domination here.

Thanks, I guess, for your very misplaced concern.

I think you’re fishing for comments.  Apparently, you’ve caught some trash in the river.

Perhaps Murray doesn’t get that Jews are like Christians. They can ignore all the tenants of their religion too. Just as christians disregard Jesus’ teachings regarding love, aiding the poor, peace and carpentry. Jews just as easily dismiss male domination and dietary restrictions on bacon.

god bless us everyone--even Hindu’s untouchables.

Um. Maybe.

and I quote:

That’s pole in the water my friend.  It’s the blog equivalent of “How do you think this low cut dress looks?”

Me. I’m just obnoxious, maybe fishing for readership.

I’m just ... fishing for readership.
You aren’t going to have much luck in a dry stream.

Is a stream still a stream if it’s dry?

What’s wrong with asking if someone likes your low cut dress?  Especially if you do it all seductively-like?
