Starting tonight at 9:00 p.m. EDT, Ugarte and I will be attempting to liveblog the Third Presidential Debate simultaneously.  We only came up with the idea a few hours ago, and I haven’t had a chance to field test the changes I made to the blog to facilitate this, so bear with us if it is a disastrous failure.  On the assumption that it is not, click HERE. 

Who knows, this may be a first!!! (First time two people liveblog the same debate at the same time on the same blog, not first time something on this blog is not a disastrous failure )

MEA CULPA: Ugarte’s absence was my fault.  I failed to give him the requisite access.  He’s in now, and plugging in notes he took while watching.  Sorry for the failure, but it was our first time.

I don’t think I’ve ever agreed more with Ugarte’s opinions.

I don’t know where Ugarte is.  He may still be at the comedy club?  Or no computer near TV. Don’t know :(

Can’t Kerry, just once, say something like, “with all due respect Bob, what the President just said is a load of BS”.  That would have been a great answer on the global test question ... he should have been more aggressive when Bush distorted him.

Boring debate.  Bush’s best, probably a draw, which is, in a sense, a victory for Bush.

What a stupid final question.

I don’t know what happened with the text editor, but I wasn’t able to enter comments at 9. I opted to watch and take notes - my comments are going in now. Fake live - but without reading anything else.

Didn’t think any liberals would mention ‘idears’, I stand corrected.

I had “idears” in my notes too, but Ferrari beat me too it.  I think maybe we are going to have to stop making “nucular” jokes.

best part was bush saying “i never said that about osama bin laden”. the networks are gonna have a field day with that one.

Oh, I think Kerry killed him.  It was obvious that Bush couldn’t say anything except “No Child Left Behind” in response to specific policy proposals.  CNN snap poll is great for Kerry—not only did he win, but now he beats Bush on economics (he was trailing) and on “issues you care about.”

Ilse heard the first half on the radio, and she said Kerry killed too.

Nice job on the live-blogging rick - as for idear, perhaps kerry is secretly from southern england (where they like to add their r’s)...

Apparently, it’s a Boston accent.  go figure…
