One Down, One To Go
It’s too late and I’m too tired to blog the details, but my first appearance as a stand-up comic went at least as well as I could have expected. I finished tied for second in my preliminary heat at the “Funniest Amateur Jewish Comic” contest at Gotham on Tuesday night.
By finishing second I advance to the finals on June 29th. Details to follow.
Expect a longer post about this in the future, but for now I have to get some sleep so that I can be awake enough tomorrow to tinker with the material and add another five minutes for the “Funniest Lawyer” contest at Stand-Up New York.
Thanks to everyone that made it out and thanks in advance for those coming tonight.
Nice job! And good luck in the future. I keep telling myself I’m going to try my hand at stand up and I keep wimping out. If all else fails, then go with the ovaltine routine. Its gold Ugarte...GOLD!

I noticed, Pauly. Was hoping to thank you in person. We’ll talk over the felt after my vacation if you can’t make it out tonight.
Also, thanks to gza-prime for the kind words. I floated over to your blog: if Brian Regan is your idea of a great comedian ...
we have similar tastes.
