Help Demonstrate the Power of the Blogosphere -- and Fight Cancer!

Right-wing, left-wing, poker-player or not, here is a project we can all join together on: punishing obnoxious spammers who target poker bloggers and exploit the fight against cancer.

I got my email from “janderson@versogroup.com” - so you can feel free to write to him also.

Yeah two of mine were from him.  I hesitated to post his e-mail because I wasn’t sure whether he might be just an innocent victim of evil spammer techniques.

Wow Rick, You must really hate entrepeneurial minded business owners. I suppose you operate your businesses and give all the profit away. Interestingly you say this product is stupid? Not everything that is similar is an exploytation. I came accross your silly tyrade when searching for this product, and felt compelled to respond to your shortsighted ridiculous response. I work with a company that holds (FOR CHARITY) Poker Tournaments and we felt that these were a great product for giveaways to our entrants. How if the product is similar to the Lance Armstrong bracelet is it exploytation???? You exploit America in the name of your restaurant, who cares. Sorry that your life is so troubled that you let your feeble thoughts of what I am sure was a mistaken span, control your day. We love the product and can’t wait to receive our shipment.....Maybe you should take up a more docile trade like stamp collecting so you don’t have to deal with such life threatening things spam.
Sincerely

1) That you want to use the “All In” bracelets for charity is commendable, but it has nothing to do with the sales pitch we received.

2) A bracelet that looks like the Livestrong bracelet is silly (no matter how much you like it). One that says uses Livestrong as a parallel, but in fact is nothing more than “a bracelet that looks just like the Livestrong bracelet ... but without all that charity and self-empowerment!” is offensive.

3) Rick’s Cafe is only a metaphorical restaurant. Leave your house and rent Casablanca.

4) “Tyrade”? “Exploytation”? Stop spinning the wheel and buy a fucking “i” already.

Doug, might I be so bold as to suggest that if you want to support charities and give your entrants a neat giveaway, you give them the actual Livestrong bracelets, since (a) the Livestrong bracelets cost 1/3 of what the “All-in” bracelets cost; (b) you will be supporting an additional charity with your purchase; and (c) your entrants will get the real thing, not a lame knock-off.  It may even encourage some of your entrants to learn more about cycling, and how biking to work can cut household gas costs and improve the environment at the same time.

Or, you could support these “entrepeneurs”, which would make you both a bad businessman and a lame charity.
