I can’t wait for Rick to post again, so I guess I just have to put this up now.

My stand-up “career” resumes in earnest this week.  Tuesday night is the finals of the Funny Jew contest at Gotham. I haven’t performed since the Funny Lawyer contest so I have scheduled a warm-up performance for this Saturday night at The Improv.  It appears that the finals for the Funny Jew contest are sold out, so this would be a good show to go to. I still need a few more confirmed guests on my (remember: Charles Star) ledger to get the stage time, so come on out.  The reservation line at The Improv is 212-629-1781.

The Improv is at 318 W. 53d between 8th and 9th. The show starts at 7, but they recommend that you get there when the doors open at 6:15. This guarantees [for you] a better seat and [for the club] a drink in you before the comedy starts. The show is $12 plus a two-drink minimum.

Charles, I thought you were good. Unfortunately, I was only one of four judges, and was also doing double duty as Jewish Week correspondent, so I couldn’t retire to the judges room to justify my choices.
